The Ultimate Freedom: Why You Must Try ‘Free Hiking’ Once in Your Life
Imagine this: you are walking along a quiet mountain path, the warm wind caresses your skin, and the sun warms your shoulders without the barrier of clothing. No constricting belts, no chafing shirts, no sweaty fabrics. Pure freedom. That is free hiking, or walking naked. For those who have never done it, it might sound daunting, but whoever takes the plunge soon discovers a deep, almost magical connection with nature.
Let one thing be perfectly clear: free hiking has absolutely no sexual connotation. It is actually a return to the essence. You literally cast off your worries, your rolls, and your clothes. You feel one with the environment, as if you are merging into the landscape itself. It is a rare form of mental and physical relaxation.
We ourselves head out without clothes every now and then, and every time it amazes us how incredibly liberating it is. We love sharing that experience with others. What many people don’t know is that walking naked in Spain is completely legal. The law actually permits it everywhere, except where it is explicitly prohibited, such as on the Ramblas in Barcelona.
Our own region, El Comtat, is truly excellent for this. Because this is an authentic, non-touristy part of Spain, you won’t encounter anyone here for hours. The tranquility is overwhelming. Of course, we don’t just wander around recklessly; by now, we know exactly which hidden paths allow us to enjoy ourselves undisturbed and which spots are better avoided. And for that rare occasion when a local shepherd or cyclist does appear? Don’t worry, we always take precautions and always have a scarf or light wrap immediately at hand to cover ourselves discreetly.
It is an experience that will change your view of freedom forever. Are you itching to experience that pure connection with nature for yourself? Then keep a very close eye on our posts over the coming weeks, because something very special is coming soon…
Warm hug,
Luc & Valérie
